Manos Avgeridis

Manos Avgeridis is the director of the Archives of Contemporary Social History (ASKI), a member of the Editorial Board of the journal Archietotaxio and the Coordinating Group of the radio show History in Red. He holds a PhD in Modern and Contemporary History from the Department of History and Archaeology of the University of Athens, where he is conducting postdoctoral research on the pop historiography of post-war Greece. He has implemented programs of historical research, archival documentation, digital and public history in Greek and international research and educational institutions. He teaches at the Department of Education and Preschool Education (TEAPI) of the National University of Athens and at the Postgraduate Program “Political Science and History” of Panteion University. He is a co-creator of the documentary “A Great Adventure. The Recognition of the National Resistance" and author of the book The Second Life of the National Resistance. Practices of Recognition and Exclusion, 1944–2006 (with M. Fitili and E. Koukis). His research interests, with an emphasis on 20th century history, include the history of World War II and the Cold War, population movements, democratic transitions, post-war historiography and memory studies.
