Author and educator Maria Chrysostomou presents the children's book "Where I Belong", a tender story inspired by real experiences within the school environment, which highlights the importance of acceptance, diversity, friendship and inclusion.

The presentation combines narration of selected excerpts with an interactive experiential workshop, adapted to the age of the children. Through a team mission game and elements of educational robotics, children are invited to put themselves in the hero's shoes, seek solutions to social difficulties and discover that every person deserves to feel like they belong.

An action that strengthens empathy, respect and the cultivation of a positive school climate, leaving children with the message that diversity is strength and acceptance starts with each of us.

Book Presentation & Experiential STEM Activity

The presentation of the children's book "Where I Belong" combines literary storytelling with an interactive STEM activity, aiming to cultivate empathy, acceptance and inclusion. Through a short audiovisual video, participants get to know the hero of the story and then watch selected excerpts that highlight his difficulties, such as anxiety, loneliness, isolation, communication challenges and the need for safety and acceptance. Discussion and reflection follow, while the children actively participate in the activity

“The Journey of Acceptance,” programming an educational robot to symbolically guide the hero towards acceptance. At the same time, they complete a worksheet and discover, step by step, the central message of the story: “Acceptance means belonging as I am.”
