Every book hides an idea. Every seed hides a garden.
An experiential activity that connects reading with nature, creativity and caring for the environment. Children and their parents will begin their experience by reading a children's book or excerpts on the theme of nature, plants and seeds, creating a first connection between the world of history and the real world of the garden.
Then, through a short and interactive tour of the urban vegetable garden, children will observe the plants and crops, learn what a seed needs to grow and have the opportunity to ask questions. As part of the “Planting my own idea” activity, each child will plant a seed or a small plant, learning in practice the basic stages of planting and care.
The action concludes with the creative activity “A day in the garden…” . Each child will add their own suggestion or idea to a common poster, creating together a collective story through the eyes of the children. An experience that highlights the power of the book to generate ideas and the joy of nature to make them grow.
Duration: 45 minutes | Audience: Children and families | Participants: 10–15 children with parents
Location: Urban Vegetable Garden, near the playground on the upper level of the park cafeteria
