The book, which offers comprehensive information about the life and struggle of Özker Özgür, the leader of the Turkish Cypriot left, and the history of the Turkish Cypriot left movement, is being released to Cypriot readers in both Turkish and Greek editions. At the event, which will include a discussion and talk about the book and the history of the Turkish Cypriot left struggle, the author, Dr. Abdullah Korkmazha, will meet with readers and sign copies of his book.
Abdullah Korkmazhan graduated from the Department of Archeology and Art History at Eastern Mediterranean University in 2008. He received his master's degree in International Relations from the University of Nicosia in 2012 and his doctorate in Turkish and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Cyprus in 2017. He is the author of two books: "The Cyprus Impasse of the Turkish Left, 1950-1980," published in Turkish in 2017 and in Greek in 2018, and "One Side abyss, One Side fire: The First Leftist Movements in the Turkish Cypriot Community, First and Second Generation Turkish Cypriot Leftists 1919-1965," published in Turkish in 2021.
