About the book: These are the testimonies of the last living miners of Serifos who closed permanently in 1963. At that time they were underage workers, today they are elderly. Their stories are stories of the working middle ages and the theft of their land by extortion. The National Technical University of Athens is fighting for the maintenance of the mining facilities that are collapsing, it claims the preservation of the mining identity of the island of Serifos and the locals are still fighting today with businessmen who claim their land, claiming that they are heirs of the then German contractors of the mines.
