Interactive storytelling

Marilyn Zannetou, Fani Petsa and Maria Kassinou

There will be an interactive recitation of a selection of poems by the author and actress/theater expert Fani Petsa.

A short event based on a specific poem that allows for interaction will follow, in collaboration with actress Fani Petsa (co-presenter).

The whole event will be accompanied by violin music.

Author

Marilyn Zannetou was born in London and raised in Cyprus. She works as a primary school teacher. She has a Masters in Science Teaching and is a PhD candidate in Educational Leadership.

In 2016, she published her first book, a collection of short stories titled “Instantaneous Tales of a Self-Determined Reality,” while in 2017, she published the children’s book “The Alien Brainbox of Alexander.” In 2024, she published her first poetry collection titled “The Last One Left Over,” while in the same year, she published her second children’s story titled “The Girl Who Just Wanted to Fit In,” which deals with issues of eating disorders.

Narrator

Fani Petsa is a graduate of the Veakis Drama School and the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Athens, Department of Theatre Studies. In 2015-16 she was nominated for the Best Actress award at the Cyprus Theatre Awards for her performance in the monologue The Ballad of Horror directed by Aghios Paikou at the Estia Theatre. She has participated as an actress in the Epidaurus Festival, the Art Theatre, the Spring Theatre, the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation, the Th.O.K., the ENA Theatre, the E.T.A.L. and the Estia Theatre.

Musical

Maria Kassinou is originally from Nicosia and holds a degree in Music Studies (Composition and Violin) from the ARTE Music Academy, a degree in Educational Sciences (Primary Education) and a postgraduate degree in Music Education. She has presented papers at various conferences in Cyprus and abroad, concerning the teaching of Cypriot traditional music in relation to globalization and identity issues, has organized many seminars concerning music pedagogy, the development of theatrical and musical skills and is a trainer in various workshops on music and rhythmic expression through speech. She is also involved in the composition of music for theater, for which she has received awards and distinctions.
