THEATRE PERFORMANCE
From the theater group Des fourmis dans la Lanterne

DESCRIPTION:
As loving parents, they had imagined a tender moment with their child in the park... Very quickly, however, they are swept away by the whirlwind of modern life.
How can we be truly present for the people we love,
When we are overwhelmed by obligations and demands, how do we find the balance between the responsibilities and distractions of everyday life?
The group Des Fourmis dans la Lanterne , through the art of puppetry, places a mirror before us, revealing the absurd but also moving aspects of our lives.

The 1st Mitsikouri International Performing Arts Festival for Children and Young People, organized by the Theatre Centre for Children and Young People – ASSITEJ Cyprus, will host 11 high-level theatre, dance and music performances for children, from 10 countries: Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Cyprus, Lithuania, Ireland, United Kingdom, Greece, Iceland and Finland. The program includes performances for all ages of children, from 0 to 18 years old. The aim of the Festival is to present to the Cypriot audience the modern trends in the field of performing arts for children internationally, as well as to offer moments of emotion, magic and laughter for the whole family. With inclusion being the theme of this first edition of the Festival, the majority of the productions that will be presented will belong to the category of non-verbal theatre, which makes them accessible to every child. The performances will be presented in seven different venues in Nicosia, Limassol and Lefkara, while the pre-sale of tickets will begin on September 13, from the SoldOut Tickets website. For the performances in Limassol, the pre-sale will be from the Rialto Theatre website. The Festival will also host a rich parallel program with workshops, discussions and lectures. The parallel activities will be addressed to children, parents, arts professionals, as well as educators. The logo of the event has been designed by the distinguished Cypriot artist Giorgos Tsangaris. The opening ceremony of the Festival will take place on October 25, at 18:00, at the Square of the new Nicosia City Hall, in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Culture.
