The Poetry of Reality: When Words Become Cinema
16:00
PRESENTATION / SHOW
Organized by the Ukrainian cultural center OBIIMY.
DESCRIPTION:
Iryna will also share experiences from her work on documentaries about women defending Ukraine, the lives of civilians in war zones, as well as her current animated documentary about the city of Kiev – where peaceful everyday life coexists with the harsh realities of war.
The event will include a question and answer session, because dialogue always matters.
Iryna Tsilyk is an award-winning Ukrainian director and writer. At the event, she will present poems from her collections “Thin Ice” and “Depth of Field,” written during the war. These works vividly capture the contrasts of everyday life in Ukraine and explore her experiences as a mother, a soldier’s wife, and an artist living through war.
