  • The publication is a translation of the Greek title How Necessity Becomes History (2016) by the former President of the Republic of Cyprus, Demetris Christofias.

Professor and former Minister of Education, Dr. Andreas Dimitriou, states that through the book one can relive the history of Cyprus from the second half of the 20th century to the present day.

The autobiographical book of Dimitris Christofias is divided into three parts. The first chapters describe the early years of childhood and adolescence in Dikomo and studies in Moscow. They are the years of formation - personal and political. Chapters 8-22 describe the years of rise and political establishment from the coup to the elevation to the presidency of the Parliament. Chapters 23-31 describe the years of power and trial.
